Baidu vs Google:
Baidu is China’s Google. It’s one of China’s most famous sites. Baidu founded in 2000 by the hands of Robin Li and Eric Xu. Both are Chinese citizens who have been studying and working abroad before returning to China. This online giant has various services. In addition to services such as audio, video, image, search engine, map tools, cloud storage, news, post-bar, MP3, Baidu Encyclopedia, web dictionary, games etc., there is also a non-driverless car service like Google. Its daily users are 70 million, and monthly users are 660 million. In December 2016 Baidu occupied the fourth place in the Internet ranking. Note that the activities of Google have officially closed in China.
We-chat vs facebook:
Chinese Internet Company’s name is Tencent they bring WeChat.We-chat has established a well known and widely used messenger app in China. Back in 2011, it had a rivalry with the message, Google news, venmo etc. We-Chat used as alternative Social networking site in China.
It also has various types of services – text messaging, voice messaging, walkie-talkie, picture sharing, etc. Apart from it has own payment method, “wechat” payment’ service. WeChat also offers an appointment to doctor appointment bookings, electricity bills, and traffic fine and so on. The first name was Weixin.But for International branding weChat required better and widely accepted name. As a result, WeChat has changed its name in 2012. Wechat nominated for one of the world third consecutive chatting apps. It has monthly 938 million monthly users. It is considered as the rival of Facebook. Facebook closed in China.
Alibaba vs Amazon:
Alibaba, which operates more than 200 countries, is one of the largest internet-based companies in the world. Alibaba.com crossed Wal-Mart in April 2016 as the world’s largest retailer. Since 2015, its online sales and profits exceeded all US retailers, Wal-Mart, Amazon, and eBay. Alibaba is now expanding into the media and entertainment industries after having achieved a lot of growth over the years. The platform has more than 500 million monthly active mobile users. Alibaba e-Commerce has become more popular in the world for ‘Alipay’ payment apps. Until now Alibaba has other e-commerce sites standing. Its journey started on April 4, 1999, with Jack’s hand. Jack Ma Alibaba took the name from the story of the famous story ‘Alibaba and forty thif. Alibaba Group has Taobao.com considered ‘Chinese E-Bay’.
Didi Chuxing is called Chinese Uber, mobile app-based taxi service network. The company provides transportation services for more than 400 million users across 400 cities in China. It has a car, bus, test drive, rent-a-car, enterprise solution, minibus, luxurious bus and mobile app-based cycle sharing network. Last year, in 2016, Uber has joined hands with Didi Chuxing. Its journey started in June 2012, Founder of Chang Wei. He worked in Alibaba for eight years before starting DD Chasing. Initially, its name was DD Dachie, later its name was DD Qaida. From September 1, 2015, the new journey started again as Didi Chuxing.
Sina Weibo vs twitter:
Sina Weibo is a micro-blogging site like Twitter. 350 million monthly active internet users receive the service of the 154 million daily users, 91% of the women. It has 503 million registered users. Every day 100 million messages are posted. Its journey started on August 14, 2009. Sina Weibo has created awareness among the Chinese people about freedom of speech. Generally educated people have taken this app as an area to oppose government’s wrongdoing. As a result, Sina Weibo had to face several times in the face of Chinese administration. Note that Twitter is officially closed in China.
Youku vs Youtube:
Youku’s rival can be called YouTube. This is China’s popular video streaming site. Full-length video uploaded to Yuk. Yuku is trading in partnership with more than 1,500 licensees like television stations, distributors, film, and television production companies; those who upload video content on regular sites. Its journey began in 2006; Victor Co is the founder of it has 500 million monthly active users and 800 million daily visitors.
There are many more video sites in China like iQiyi, Sohu, LeTV, Tencent Video, PPTV, 56.com, and Funshion. Although recent Baidu iQiyi has reduced the popularity of Youku. YouTube officially closed in China.
Despite the size, service and large business efforts of these sites, their identity is not the same as outside of China. Currently, China’s population is more than 138 million.
Because of this large population, Tech based giant companies have established. So, Chinese movement is reluctant to exploit the market potential. As a result, Government imposed the ban on major tech giants. China has become one of the world’s main trading center.
